Mizuki Tajima

Appearance
Mizuki is seen as a woman in her 20's with large, striking crimson eyes. Her hair is silver, long, and slightly wavy; cut in a style which incorporates overgrown hime sides and bangs. She stands at 5'2 though is often wearing heels which place her at 5'6. Her attire consists of formal wear even when she is not working, and her color palette is exclusively black, white, grey, and red. She often accessorizes her outfits with both gold and silver jewelry. A golden heart shaped pendant is on her person at all times, though hidden underneath her clothing.
Personality

The TV personality of Mizuki (or later "Mizuki-chan!") is that of a young, bubbly and energetic woman who is very passionate about her work and maintains the image of a social butterfly. She is adored by the fans that she does have, and is influential with her opinions, especially once she snags her own talk show. Her true personality is much different, being bitter, lonely, resentful, and manipulative. She talks with many, but establishes actual meaningful conversations with few. Whilst she does feel empathy and longs for social connections, her first instinct is to push others away to avoid unnecessary heartbreak and grief. She does not have a very positive view on relationships whether they be platonic or romantic, though she is surprisingly supportive and kind if you can break through her shell. Her love is most definitely shown through actions rather than her words, which can sometimes seem sarcastic or even offensive in nature. If she were to form a bond with anyone, it would be a while before she opened up truly, but they would no doubt hold an eternal place in her heart.Mizuki despises the world for being full of terrible people, yet is hypocritical in becoming one of those people she disliked. After experiencing a great deal of stress, suffering, and loss in her life; other people's problems became irrelevant to her, and she developed a more selfish attitude. Mizuki was simply done with living a life wasted on other people when she should have been looking out for herself. There have been many instances where she has displayed absolutely 0 remorse or guilt for her actions, seemingly comfortable with who she had become.

Though she does have a sense of regret buried under a cold heart, at least to a degree and in certain situations. There will be times where she reflects on herself as a person and wonders what her late brother Satoshi would think of her if he was with her today, though those thoughts are simply pushed away in place of a darker and more vengeful mindset that despises such a cruel world that took everything from her- she sees no problem with returning the favor, even if that means stepping on others along the way to achieve her goals, along with manipulating the masses.Mizuki was always a hard working individual, and that didn't change. She is always looking for something to aspire towards no matter how large or small. Success drives her forwards and gives her a reason to live.As for how she achieves her goals, her power was a turning point for her. Though she had not fully embraced the parts of her that she should have or unlocked what her Persona truly was meant to be, she still managed to use her Shadow Self for her on gain. Intelligent enough to already know those parts of herself inside and out, she used that information to her advantage to commit her crimes and further her own desires.Despite becoming a popular face, Mizuki cares little for the followers she has gained through her tactics or otherwise, thinking of them as nothing more than brain rotted idiots. She holds similar feelings towards most fanbases of celebrities and idols in general.Though she does display a soft spot for children, seeing them as innocent and free from the corruption of the world. This is mainly due to the time she spent bonding with her younger brother when he was growing up.At the end of the day, Mizuki is just a woman who lived a shitty life where she had to grow up too fast, and experienced a lot of trauma when she lost her brother. The past she led plus her general upbringing made her into the person she is today; a woman who turned her back to a world that had had always had its back turned to her from the start.
Mizuki's Shadow Self

Unlike most Shadows of ones Self, Mizuki's shadow is not inherently hostile. The real world Mizuki had spent many months in nothing but self reflection and isolation to the point that she actually accepted the ugly and twisted parts of her personality as a whole, seeing nothing good about, or within herself. This left her shadow with all the parts of her personality that grief had pushed away. Her shame, her guilt, her meekness, submissiveness, her desire to help others. Essentially, every part of herself that Mizuki had severed ties with on account of finding those aspects of her personality 'weak'. This in turn made Mizuki's Shadow Self easy to use to her own advantage and control it with manipulation; a vicious cycle of self loathing that in the long run only hurts herself. Despite how sadistic Mizuki can be to everyone else, her own shadow no doubt deals with the worst of her.Mizuki's shadow does not attack without command, instead desiring to protect humans. However it does as Mizuki says- their first meeting set the stage for what would be a long game of playing with the other Shadows of other people's Selves they encountered. The basic shadows that do not belong to any human beings cannot be controlled with Mizuki's Shadow's power, and so they need to be taken down like normal. The other sentient ones however can fall victim to a spell known as "Dark Charm" which influences them to do Mizuki's bidding.'Shadow' is the name that Mizuki uses for her Shadow Self; along with various strings of insults depending on the day. Her Shadow Self was manipulated into assisting the human part, essentially becoming a Persona in its own right, though not a true one. When being summoned it appears as a tarot card with an ever changing circular pattern; almost like gazing into a kaleidoscope. The image itself is a representation of a Reversed Wheel of Fortune; the complete opposite of what Mizuki's given name means rather than a sense of her true Arcana.

Early Life
Mizuki was born on January 18th 1989, growing up on the outskirts of Inaba with her mother Miyuki Tajima quite happily most of her young life. However, quite often her mother would fall ill. Whenever Mizuki would ask her mother what was wrong, she would be brushed off- told to not worry so much, and the nature of the illness was never explained to her. Often as a child, Mizuki would do all she could when it came to chores or making food to give her mother some well deserved peace, though it took away from quite a lot of Mizuki's free time. When she was 10 years old, her mother met a man from Tokyo named Satoshi Sugihara; a man that Mizuki believed had just played with her mothers heart for fun despite Miyuki claiming that it was true love and that the man only desired to help their family." ๐ง๐พ'๐ ๐๐๐๐๐พ ๐๐๐พ ๐ผ๐๐บ๐๐๐พ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐!"However, she never did come around. Her mother became pregnant less than a year after meeting Satoshi, giving birth to a son born of the same name. ย In turn this only made Mizuki's mother sicker, to the point that the man she was with didn't desire to deal with it. He didn't want to be a father, and so he abandoned the three of them including his newborn son, vanishing just as quickly as he showed up.

A Life Long Past
The 11 year old Mizuki despised her half brother at the very start, simply for the circumstances surrounding his birth. She believed her mother foolish and gullible for trusting in the man that clearly used her, and Mizuki's resentment only continued to grow and fester silently as time went on, especially when her mother became more distant with her than before. Still, she did the best she could for her family. Music; a passion she once held, was completely discarded and replaced by even more chores and work, especially with the young Satoshi in the picture.Satoshi was practically a spitting image of the father that abandoned his son, even at the age of just six years old. It only served as a bitter reminder of the burden of a life that Mizuki led. During this time, her mother had also become heavily invested in pain meds to deal with her condition, making it so that the woman could no longer go to work. As a result, a then 16 year old Mizuki took up a part time job at a coffee shop to cover expenses. There was no time for friends, no time for fun, no time for her passion of music. A violin sat in her room, gathering dust in a closet, her dreams of becoming famous for her skill in the instrument remained only that; just dreams.

Her life felt like a rather lonely one, and yet she believed in doing the right thing for her family. Her mother had raised her in such a way that Mizuki became a reserved and polite person who kept her emotions and stronger opinions to herself. All thoughts of resentment were buried deep down as she took the upon the roles that would benefit her mother and her brother. But she never really felt appreciated or cared about ever since the time Satoshi was born. Her views changed when one day the young boy was being harassed at school; when Satoshi was being bullied and he tried to fight back, he had been scolded by his teacher. A very stressed out Mizuki dropped the passive attitude and stood up for him, her words sharp and untamed, causing parents and teachers alike to back off completely. As a result, the parents of the bully made their son apologize as did the teacher to Satoshi.
With Satoshi's respect and admiration, the girl developed a newfound outlook on life. Her work and her efforts no longer felt like such a burden or like something she had to do just because it was a shitty hand she was dealt. Instead, she began to feel more motivated because she wanted to keep her brother close, and offer him the best in life that she never got to experience. Satoshi had encouraged her to be her true self at all times and to not hold back her feelings, which helped her become more open as an individual as well as with Satoshi and her mother.ย Her bond with Satoshi only increased over the years as she took up a parental role, especially when their mother could no longer walk anymore due to her illness, and completely became his guardian when their mother finally passed away. The legal process to become Satoshi's guardian was long and tedious. Their mother had died when Mizuki was 19, and she was given a hard time and strict criteria to meet in regards to finding a better paying job if she was to support him. So when an opportunity came knocking; she didn't deny it. There was a man who had worked at the local news station who she knew had a thing for her, and played that to her advantage with some harmless flirting to get a job which she hoped would lead her to success. Unfortunately, she was only running more errands and delivering coffees, but the pay was enough to keep Satoshi with her, and that was all that mattered.
The Night That Changed Everything

The violin that had once done nothing but gather dust in Mizuki's room was sold to afford a school trip for the then 10 year old Satoshi who was in her care. Initially the woman was quite protective over the boy and didn't want him to leave Inaba, but seeing how much he really wanted to see the city with his friends, she gave in; selling the instrument to be able to fund his trip plus pocket money to have a good time. Unfortunately Satoshi's first extended school trip would become his last.Wanting to show his admiration and appreciation for the sister who practically took the place as his mother; Satoshi had bought her a fancy gold heart shaped pendant for Mizuki with an inscription that read 'I love you, big sis!' in intricate lettering. The teacher that was on duty to return the children to their school had wandered off, leaving Satoshi alone during the evening where a man desperate to afford a living had tried to snatch it from the boy who so desperately wanted to play the hero like his sister had done for him so many times before. An event which ultimately led to the thief attacking and ending Satoshi's life early out of desperation with a single gunshot.A devastated Mizuki appeared on the scene, finding the pendant stained in blood. The rest of the day became a haze as the police spoke to her and the identity of the attacker was revealed. After which she returned to a then empty home, losing all meaning in her existence and blaming herself for the events that occurred. She isolated, refusing to talk to a single soul for many months and not showing up to her work, seeing as there was no point in anything anymore. The man that had committed the crime was imprisoned but the sentence was nowhere near as harsh as it should have been. Mizuki lost faith in the world, and grew resentment towards such an awful existence.
The Midnight Channel

By the time the events of P4 started, Mizuki was 22 years old, having spent just over a year lost in her own grief and hatred. Occasionally she would return to the scene of Satoshi's death, which is where she herself met the gas station attendant. Her interaction with them was pointless and brief, only shaking hands due to the fact that she was allowed to take a few packets of instant ramen home with her for free. Her encounter with the Midnight Channel brought her not even the slightest sense of curiosity or fascination. Seeing Mayumi on screen was simply a bitter reminder that her own life had down spiraled into shit; nothing to aspire towards, bills piling up, all whilst the man that killed Satoshi would have his sentence ending soon. It was only due to the fact that the woman had drank herself stupid that she even discovered a way into the television in the first place; trying to use the appliance to pull her tired body up from the floor, which ultimately led her to falling in.Once inside the television, Mizuki wandered aimlessly through the landscape until she encountered her Shadow Self. The shadow had tried to lure her in, telling her to accept the parts of herself that she had been neglecting. The parts that were kind, loving, helpful- along with all the parts Mizuki considered weak. This was met only with resentment and bitterness from Mizuki, yet she didn't deny her shadow self outright either. The girl had an opportunity to actually save Mayumi, but chose to instead turn a blind eye to the screaming and whatever else was happening in the distance. Her heart had turned cold, and she was done assisting others who did not deserve mercy." ๐๐ค ๐ฎ๐ค๐ช ๐ข๐๐๐๐ฉ ๐๐จ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ก ๐๐ค ๐๐จ ๐ ๐จ๐๐ฎ, ๐ง๐๐๐๐ฉ?"The compliant parts of Mizuki had been poured into her Shadow Self and as a result of desperately wanting to be accepted, the shadow agreed to Mizuki's terms. This became the start of her 'Persona' which was nothing more than a shadow, though it could be utilized by Mizuki as such, considering her Shadow Self willingly handed over itself and its power. From there she learned the true nature of her shadow's powers, realizing that it had the ability to charm and manipulate other Shadow Selves to fulfill her own desires; ultimately changing the mentality of people in the real world. Mizuki's wishes were to become seeds planted as she sat back in the real world, turning her life around, and finding that drive to come out successful and on top once more. But there was one thing in particular that she desired to see come to life, and he quickly became her first victim. The man who killed Satoshi; a thug by the name of Haruto Takeda was targeted first. There were many times Mizuki had considered ending the man with her own hands, but ultimately she decided that was not going to be good enough. She wished for the man to suffer guilt, remorse, and pain for his actions. So she traveled the TV World in search for the shadow of that man, using her own Shadow to manipulate Shadow Haruto's deep rooted beliefs and preying on him. It helped that the man did feel guilty deep down, but Mizuki sent that feeling into overdrive with her newfound power; her desire being to make him suffer so much he'd feel like he was getting eaten alive until he eventually ended his own life instead."
Manipulating The Masses

After the discovery of her 'Persona', Mizuki would make frequent trips to the TV World to change her reality the way she saw fit. To get her job back at the TV station, she found the shadow of the man that hired her in the first place and used her Shadow Self to convince him that he desired her to return; this time as an actual news reporter and with much higher pay. They were down in staff, after all, and so she used that to her advantage. In the process she also began to make the other reporters feel insecure when on the job, ultimately leading her higher and higher in the ranks. The more she used her powers, the easier it was to have Shadow Selves fall under her influence and command. Once more, her daily life became a constant grind. She worked hard in the TV station by day, and by night she would enter the TV world whenever it was clear to do so. After Mayumi and Saki she understood that others could fall into the world; just like her, and she didn't intend to expose her powers to the rest of the world that didn't need to know. Again, the woman worked hard to achieve what she wanted.Over time, Mizuki had convinced several shadows to tune into her news stories; whether that be striking fear into their hearts through the murders that were taking place, or instilling terror in regards to the fog. In the short span of a few months, Mizuki had gained quite a following in Inaba, and her desire became to push forwards even further.
Social Link
Mizuki can be found once a week on a Friday evening standing around inside Junes, with the first encounter being her shopping at the store. She would appear there a total of 10 times, each being the only opportunity to talk with her. Her Arcana only appears as ??? indicating that it is unclear what she represents at all. Throughout the course of the link Mizuki will constantly question why they'd waste their time even talking to her to begin with, because it will bring them no fortune or gain. Eventually though, she opens up more and more about her thoughts and feelings towards the world." If the individual proceeds to talk to Mizuki 9 times without fail, she will appear distressed on the 10th visit, mentioning how she recently lost a heart shaped pendant somewhere. That pendant can be found inside the TV world, revealing the fact that Mizuki had access to the place all along. When questioned with what she was doing in there, Mizuki asks that they meet her in the place the pendant was found, and there will be a choice to do so or not.If confronted, Mizuki will spill her crimes, saying everything she did was enjoyable as much as it was selfish, emphasizing once again that she was a bad person that nobody should want anything to do with. This ultimately leads to a boss battle with her, and if they still show her kindness after that, she finally sighs and relents, accepting that there is a weaker part of herself. This in turn leads to her awakening to her true Persona as the Arcana is revealed to Mizuki. Though she refuses to disclose what that is, leaving with the same spew of nobody getting shit from her anymore, even if it's more lighthearted towards the end.

After The Fog
In the event where Mizuki's social link was maxed out, the TV world disappeared, along with her powers. Before the world fades entirely, she releases all the Shadow Selves from her hold. She makes peace with Satoshi's death finally as well as with herself. After everything she has done, she knows she can't make amends for her past deeds, but she can look towards the future. Mizuki leaves the news for good, sick of being a public figure for the masses and focuses instead of improving life for herself and others in unity, no longer having to strain herself between choosing just one. She buys another violin from a pawn shop and starts offering music and singing lessons to children. She doesn't become rich or famous, but after spending a few more years in Inaba she became noticed and was offered a job as a music teacher at Shujin Academy, which she accepts with open arms, leaving Inaba behind for good at the age of 27.Alternatively, her social link does not take place. Still consumed with hatred, after the fog fades away and the TV world dissipates, Mizuki is left with nothing but her bitterness and a feeling of powerlessness. This only darkens her heart more and more, and without being able to control people in the TV world, she takes it upon herself to have a more direct and aggressive approach in the real world. More ruthless than before, Mizuki focuses solely on her work as a news reporter, going so far as to manipulating others into committing crimes and making everyones life a living hell in the process just to gain more views, make more money, and rise to the top. She spreads false stories and rumors, leading to chaos and fights amongst the people in Inaba. Considering how well she got acquainted with her fans and manipulated a bunch of Shadow Selves, it became all too easy to set people against each other. It quickly became a habit and a source of addicting sadistic satisfaction. She gets offered a job in Tokyo to run her own tv talk show, and quickly becomes a host well known as Mizuki-chan! which only serves to give her more influence over the masses. Eventually fortune favors the wicked once more, and Mizuki gains access to the Metaverse via a mysterious app.
Mizuki's Palace
-Mizuki Tajima-Television-InabaMizuki has a Palace that is relatively easy to guess if one were to look into her past along with her job. The woman essentially sees the entirety of Tokyo (along with the rest of the world) as the distorted TV world Inaba, having the memories of her darkened past in her heart even many years later. Mizuki's past can gradually be watched on the various TV's that litter the inside of her Palace, playing out her early overworked childhood all the way through to her various crimes.Mizuki's Shadow Self has existed within the Palace that she had created ever since she lost access to the TV world, and that part of her suffered, repressed and alone. The shadows found in the Inaba Palace are extremely dangerous and hostile to anyone or anything but Mizuki herself who occasionally visits her own Palace, knowing full well that it exists. She continues to live a life in the past, having lost her mind completely to grief, vengeance, and a lust for power by this point.Mizuki's Palace can be entered from anywhere there is a large enough TV. There is no one set entry point; Mizuki believing that any appliance big enough should grant her the access she needs to her own world. Within Mizuki's Palace, it's the girl herself who is the antagonist that must be faced in the end. However whoever enters the Palace when the real world Mizuki is not there will be aided by her Shadow which will even fight alongside others to keep them safe. When the real world Mizuki shows up though, her Shadow Self obediently complies until the point where she is defeated.Similarly to her social link, Mizuki's treasure is the heart shaped pendant that her younger brother had given her. If the treasure is returned to her, there is an opportunity to somewhat become allies.---------------------------------------------
